Come on your own.
Feel at home.
A small yoga retreat where solo travellers are known by name, never lost in a crowd — and free to be as social or as quiet as they like.
Check availabilitySmall enough to feel safe.
Personal enough to feel seen.
A large part of our guests arrive alone. Some are experienced solo travellers. For others, Sri Lanka is their very first trip on their own.
Yoga Bee is intentionally small. Four rooms. A maximum of eight guests. Danushka teaches every class himself, Kanchana cooks the meals, and by the first morning you already know who you are sharing the table with.
This is not a large wellness resort. It feels closer to being welcomed into a home.
Your own room.
People around when you want them.
Every solo guest has a private room with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
Mornings begin together in the shala. Breakfast and dinner are shared. Afternoons are yours — beach, book, massage, exploring, or simply doing nothing.
There is no group pressure and no need to join every activity. Connection happens naturally here.

Danushka teaches every class.
No rotation of teachers. No anonymous group classes. Danushka adapts the practice to who is actually in the room that day.
Morning practice is usually more dynamic, drawing from Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga-inspired yoga. Evenings slow down with Yin, stretching, breathwork or meditation.
Beginners are welcome. Experienced practitioners are equally at home here.
You do not have to perform. You simply have to show up.
Dynamic practice to begin the day.

Meet Danushka.
More than 20 years of yoga practice. 500-hour Yoga Alliance trained. And still happiest teaching a small group where he can actually know each person.
Yoga Bee exists because Danushka wanted to teach differently — personally, attentively and without the distance of a large resort.
He teaches the morning and evening sessions and is there throughout your stay. For solo guests, that continuity matters.
The women you'll meet at Yoga Bee.
Yoga Bee is a family home, not just Danushka's studio. If you're travelling alone as a woman, these are the people around you.

Every stay supports ED's Afternoon School.
ED's Afternoon School is a free English programme for around 50 local children. Every guest stay at Yoga Bee helps keep it running.
It is part of what makes this place feel less like a resort and more like part of a community. You are not just visiting — you are contributing.
You do not need someone to come with you.
Many of our solo guests are women. Some are in their thirties, others in their fifties, sixties or beyond. There is no fixed age group and no pressure to fit a particular type.
We can arrange a private airport transfer from Colombo International Airport directly to Yoga Bee. The journey is usually around 1.5–2 hours, depending on traffic.
Once you arrive, you are not left to figure everything out alone. We help with local activities and onward travel too.
